Lahore College for Women University is an
independent women's university in Lahore, Pakistan, founded as a women's college in May 1922. One of the oldest female
institutions of Pakistan, the university has 15,000 students and a teaching
faculty of 450. It admits students at the intermediate, bachelors, master's, and Ph.D.levels. Established as an intermediate residential
college, it was in a building on Hall Road, Lahore, with a strength of 60
students (25 of whom were boarders) and 13 staff members.

The Psychology Society has been revived and the
members to be elected are interviewed. The society arranges events like
workshops, seminars, conferences and lectures.
The Punjabi Debating Society arranges
inter-class and intercollegiate debates competitions and prepares students of
LCWU to participate in debating competitions in other colleges and
universities.
The Shaukat Ara Niazi English Literary Society is
named after Shaukat Ara Niazi, a faculty member of the English Department. The
society arranges events, quizzes, and essay writing competitions to polish
students in literary activities.
LCWU's Sports Society is under the department
of Physical Education.
The Statistics Society arranges seminars,
workshops, quiz competitions, and essay competitions.
The Urdu Debating Society deals with debate
declamation and speeches.
Under the Urdu Literary Society
(Halqa-e-Ehel-e-Qalam) students participate in essay writing competitions

quintessence of the spirit of Kinnaird, the oldest and most distinguished
women’s college of Pakistan. Kinnaird is an institution of learning where a
unique and productive blend of education and values has continued to flourish
for ninety five years.
Intermediate classes began in 1913, followed by B.A.
Classes four years later. But even at that early stage Kinnaird sensed the need
for more room to grow and so the college moved to Lake Road in 1926. In 1933,
land was acquired near Lahore’s famous canal and new buildings were constructed
to house the streaming numbers of girls who flocked to this institution. By
1939 the twenty acre campus was humming with activity. Today Kinnaird ranks as
the country’s premier institution for education where over 3300 students are
enrolled at present

2.Government College University
The Government College University or GCU is a public research university located in the downtown, Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Its alumni network includes two Nobel Prize laureates Abdus Salam and Har Gobind Khorana, as well as philosopher Muhammad Iqbal, World Court President Muhammad Zafarullah Khan, four prime ministers of Pakistan and several Rhodes Scholars.

world. It was founded in 1864 as an affiliate college of Calcutta
University under the leadership of Gottlieb
Wilhelm Leitner, a professor at King's
College London. In 1882 it was affiliated with the University
of the Punjab. In 2002, It was granted university status by
the Government
of Pakistan ; the word college is retained in
its title for preserving its historical roots.
4.Punjab Group of Colleges
GCU has grown into one of the largest universities in Lahore with 10,808
students and 376 faculty members with 103 PhDs amongst them offering undergraduate, post-graduate, and doctoral studies with
an emphasis on science and arts.Its
departments of physics and mathematics has international prestige. GCU has
four faculties, 29 academic departments and four research institutes.
The GCU secured its second position in the medium category by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC)
in 2013. GCU has the highest graduation rate in the country, with an
average of 95.5% annually. Alumni of the GCU are called Ravians which is
derived word from the name of the student magazine "Ravi",
published by the administration of the college; the magazine name is inspired
by the Ravi River. The
GCU is noted for its historical roots and attracted notable scholars such
as Leitner,
Abdus Salam and philosopher Muhammad Iqbal to studied and became alumnus of the
GCU.
3.Forman Christian College
Forman Christian College is a independent research liberal
arts university located
in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan founded
in 1864. The university is administered by the Presbyterian
Church and follows an American-style curriculum.
Founded in 1864 by American Presbyterian missionary
Dr. Charles
William Forman initially named as Mission College the name was
changed to Forman Christian College in 1894 in honor of the founder. Forman
served as an associated college of the University
of Calcutta until 1947 when it became affiliated with the University
of Punjab. In 2004, the government granted it university
charter hence providing it with degree awarding authority.
The college was initially based in the Rang Mahal in Walled
City of Lahore, which was leased by Dr. Charles from the grand wazir
of Emperor
Shah Jahan with the support from foreign missions. In 1889 it
was shifted to Napier Road and
was inaugurated by the Henry Petty-Fitzmaurice, 5th Marquess
of Lansdowne. Again, in 1940, the college was moved to its present
campus on the banks of the Lahore Canal in 1940. The
college remained financial autonomous until 1960 when Pakistani government
began annual grants to the college for its nursing program.[5] The college
was nationalised in 1972 until 2003 when the control was returned to the Presbyterian
Church.
Forman is also known for its noted alumni and staff, including Nobel
laureate Arthur
Compton, former Indian
Prime Minister I. K. Gujral, former
Pakistani Presidents Farooq
Leghari and Pervez Musharraf, and
activist Eqbal Ahmad. As
of 2016, Forman is home to 6,347 students, 220 full-time faculty members with
over 100 possessing PhDs, and
21,700 strong alumni.[4] Christians
make up nearly 15% of the student body while the college runs a $1 million fund
to finance scholarships for its students. As of 2016, the college has
been ranked 9th highest in Pakistan among
medium-sized universities and is the only institute in Pakistan which is a

5.Aitchison college
Established in 1886, it has a tradition of providing an
education that uses academics, sports, and co-curricular activities as tools
for character development. The school follows a curriculum designed to
culminate in International GCE O and ALevel qualifications and
is geared towards preparing students
for university education. The institute is a Cambridge Examination Centre.
Aitchison College is a member of G20 Schools of the World.It was originally formed on January 2, 1886 as the Punjab
Chiefs’ College and was renamed Aitchison College on November 13, 1886.The college celebrated its 130th anniversary in 2016.

Staff Development and training. Its goal is to develop Army Public Schools
& Colleges into a leading education system which is completely standardized
and capable of imparting child friendly futuristic learning and quality education
at affordable costs.
APSACS Secretariat, acts as a central resource which
provides guidance in all technical aspects of education to all schools
throughout the year. It serves as a nerve centre of the system by regulating
communication and coordination amongst schools. A total number of 151 + 5
(denotified) Schools (the number is increasing with registration of new schools
all the time) operate under the jurisdiction of the APSACS Secretariat through
a setup of 11 Regional Offices. The Secretariat prepare all academic programmes
related to educational planning, Based on Curriculum, selection of textbooks to
meet the learning outcomes, Weekly Syllabus Breakups and Examination Paper are
sent to each school through these regional offices). Academic, Training and Evaluation
calendars, all record keeping registers, student dairies and notebooks etc are
designed and dispatched from the Secretariat. Weekly syllabus Breakups with
guidelines for lesson planning, assessment, policies. projects, time and
classroom management are provided to all schools.
APSACS website provides a resource for teaching and

12.Military College Jhelum or MCJ
The college's foundation stone was laid on 3 March 1922
by the Prince of Wales.As the
King George Royal Indian Military School (KGRIMS) at the Jhelum and Jallandhar cantonments in Punjab Province (Jallandhar is
now in Indian state of Punjab but the school was relocated and renamed as the Chail Military School).
Regular classes at the college began on 15 September 1925.
Every year parents day is celebrated at Military College
Jhelum in which cadets indulge in different activities such as parade, horse
jumping, gymnastics and different science and arts club activities. On this
occasion, the champion house is also declared.
13.The Fazlehaq College Mardan
The College was founded in 1983 by General Fazle Haq, governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and
educator Abdul Ali Khan, son of
politician Bachi Khan and
brother of poet and philosopher Abdul Ghani Khan was its first Principal. Classes began
on May 2, 1985, under the leadership of Ali Khan.
The college is divided into three schools. These include
the Preparatory School, the Junior School and the Senior School. Each school
has its own head teacher, its own set of teaching staff and its own motto.
14.Abbottabad Public School (APS)
Abbottabad Public School (APS), formerly Railway
Public School and Abbottabad Public School and College, is a public, all boys, boarding school for 7th to 12th grade students, located
in Abbottabad, Pakistan. APS follows the philosophy of the British boarding schools where academic rigour is
balanced with a disciplined boarding life with activities ranging from
intramural sports to debating and cultural events. Abbottabad Public School is
located at an altitude of about 4500 feet.
In 1957, Pakistan Railways opened up a school outside
Abbottabad on official railway land 'donated' by Sardar Bahadur Khan,[citation needed] brother
of General (self-proclaimed Field Marshal) Ayub Khan from Haripur, Hazara. who
later became the President of Pakistan. The school was called Railway Public
School. After two years it was closed and then after a gap of one year, in
April 1961, the school was renamed as Abbottabad Public School.
In 1986, Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, the
then President, renamed the institution as Abbottabad Public School. The school
Board of Governors, in its meeting on July 20, 2002, deleted the words “and
College” and gave the institute its original name Abbottabad Public
School. It is popularly known as APS and its alumni as Abbottonians. Abbottabad
Public School had the word "College" attached to it sometime in the
90's. The founding Principal was M. A. Rahman.
The main campus is 10 km outside Abbottabad on the
road (Mansehra Road) that eventually becomes Karakoram Highway. It covers an area of about 55 acres
(220,000 m2). The school is surrounded by deep natural ravine in almost a
U-shape. The only non-crevice side faces a high mountain. The Karakoram Highway
passes between the school and the mountain.
15.Cadet College, Hasan Abdal (CCH)
Cadet College, Hasan Abdal (CCH) is a residential secondary school located in Hasan Abdal, Attock District, Punjab, Pakistan. The college has over 500 students aged 13–18
years.[1] Each class has c.110 students.[2] The main aim of the academic program is to train
students to become future officers in the Pakistani Military. The
college has a distinctly Muslim curriculum for all students, including those
from overseas.
16.Cadet College Murree
Cadet College Ghora Gali is an established military
preparatory school located in Ghora Gali Murree, Pakistan. The cadet college prepares its students for
Pakistani higher education. It
largely acts as a preparatory school to the Pakistani Armed Forces and
places great emphasis on sports, character development, and academics

18.Cadet College Skardu
Cadet College Skardu is a military high school located at Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. The college was established in 2001 and is the first
institution of its kind in the Gilgit-Baltistan. The college is funded by the
Federal Government and is being administered by the Ministry of Kashmir and
Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs.
The campus of Cadet College Skardu is
located in the center of Skardu valley next to the Skardu airport in Hotto
town. Skardu is linked to Islamabad International Airport by a daily flight. It
takes about forty five to sixty minutes to fly from Islamabad to Skardu. The
college is approximately 7,000 feet (2,100 m) above sea level.
19.Beaconhouse school system
The first Beaconhouse school opened in Lahore, Pakistan, in 1975. From its initial association in the 1980s with the Moray House School of Education in Scotland, to its teacher training programme initiated in 1993 in collaboration with the University of Bradford, Beaconhouse has organised in-service teacher training. Today, more than half its teachers have internationally recognised teaching certificates while the rest are enrolled in the permanent in-service programme. In addition, Beaconhouse sends senior academics to the UK annually to pursue master's degrees in education and professional development.
In 1996, the World Bank Group, through its private sector wing, the International Finance Corporation, entered into a financing arrangement with Beaconhouse aimed at the construction of new school campuses.
In September 2012, the founder and chairperson of the Beaconhouse Group, Mrs. Nasreen Mahmud Kasuri, received a "Pakistan Women Power 100 award".
The first Beaconhouse school, Les Anges Montessori Academy, opened in Lahore, Pakistan, in 1975. Today, Beaconhouse has established over 146 private schools in more than 30 cities aross Pakistan.These institutions collectively provide preschool education, primary education, secondary education and preparation for the international General Certificate of Education (GCE) and local Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations.
